NEW PRODUCTS

Hilmar™ 8800 alpha-lactalbumin enriched 80% WPC is designed to help manufacturers take advantage of alpha lactalbumin's health benefits, such as mood support, mineral absorption and regulation of gut micro flora, along with the expected functional benefits of whey protein. Providing critical amino acids for energy and health, Hilmar™ 8800 also gives an extra pop of phospholipids for their essential roles in cellular structure and activity. With its heat and acid stability, high solubility and low glycemic load, Hilmar™ 8800 is ideal for humanized infant formulas, sports or health drinks, food bars and supplements.

Our line of whey protein hydrolysates all contain ACE inhibition activity - which can contribute to cardiovascular health, in addition to their individual functional advantages. From Hilmar™ 8350, which is "debittered" compared with competing WPHs, to the tabletting ability of Hilmar™ 8380 to the food/energy bar improvements from Hilmar™ 8370, these and the other Hilmar WPHs provide options for a wide range of heart-health and wellness applications. We will also develop whey protein hydrolysates in partnership with customers for a specific application or nutritional need.

New whey protein isolates, Hilmar™ 9400 WPI and Hilmar™ 9410 Instantized WPI, are ideally suited for foods and drinks wanting a positive nutrition advantage. Manufactured by special cross-flow filtration and patented fractionation process, Hilmar WPIs have unique functional benefits. Acid and heat stability allow them to withstand the rigors of juice fortification and pasteurization. Their thin-as-water viscosity make light beverages, such as fortified waters and isotonics, possible. Hilmar™ 9400 WPI is clear in liquids, and its clean flavor is equally transparent in formulations. Hilmar™ 9410 Instantized WPI has spoon-stirrable dispersibility for dry mix applications.

Lactose from Hilmar Ingredients provides a key source of carbohydrate that contributes to the overall value of a food or beverage. Lactose's low glycemic index (GI) is one advantage. Low GI products - those that produce only small fluctuations in blood sugar and insulin levels - help maintain consistent energy levels and help moderate spikes and dips in blood sugar. Low GI products also aid long-term health by reducing the risk of heart disease, diabetes and by helping to manage weight. For infants, lactose is the primary carbohydrate found in mother's milk, it is an essential energy source, increases absorption of minerals such as calcium, magnesium and zinc, and stimulates the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria and inhibiting pathogenic bacteria.

We produce the Hilmar™-brand of whey proteins. The Hilmar 8000 series includes 80% WPC, tabletting and alpha-lactalbumin enriched WPCs, plus a range of functional hydrolysates; and our 9000 series of 90% WPIs includes uniquely manufactured WPIs with both IX and MF characteristics.

In addition, we produce the Hilmar™ 5000 series of high purity edible and refined lactose, and pharmaceutical lactose specifically formulated for the wet granulation process.
